London - Portmeirion - London

From 3 days From £390
Portmeirion is both hallucination and inspiration, a place that's playful and peaceful in equal measure. Sheep roam on the beach, an abandoned lighthouse stands sentinel over the harbour, and somewhere in the far distance, real life waits for vistors to return. You'll never regret a visit...

Portmeirion is a magical place and spending a weekend in the secluded wonder of the village is the perfect way to relax. The surrounding countryside is outstanding and the estuary quite captivating. If you want to visit Portmeirion we've put together an itinerary for getting there by rail from London & Manchester.

For suggestions as to what to do whilst in Portmeirion visit our Portmeiron page. We also recommend accommodation, which can be booked at Portmeirion Village.

The journey from Llandudno Junction up to Blaenau Ffestiniog can be breathtakingly beautiful, as you pass through the local Snowdonian stations. And when you've reached Blaenau you connect with the charming Ffestiniog steam railway for the journey down to Minffordd, close to Portmeirion village.

From London £100.60pp , including travel on the steam train.

From Manchester £68pp, including travel on the steam train.

To book visit The Trainline for mainline services and the Ffestioniog & West Highland Railway for the steam train.

If you'd prefer to speak to a real person you can call Ffestiniog Travel, who are part of the same company as the steam railway. They will take care of all your tickets and accommodation in Portmeirion, saving you the trouble. Call them on 01766 772030
