In the old Casino of Lucerne, this is glamour distilled as pure as lake water. The lakeside terrace is one of the best spots in Lucerne to watch both people and boats. Indoors, white linen, potted palms and crystal chandeliers breathe discretion and tradition. But unexpectedy, the food is not the heavy Swiss dumplings and sauces the surroundings might suggest- Chef Hugues Blanchard instead offers light, Mediterranean dishes, and specialities from the Italian-Swiss border. During the week, there is a special lunch menu- but dinner offers a twilight view over the evening lake, and a legendary wine-list.
