Anna Blume

On the leafy Kollwitzstrasse, in Prenzlauer, is this exquisite Art Deco cafe with red leather banquettes and marble tables. Outside is a florist, and a free library set into a tree trunk, where passers-by drop the books they no longer want and others retrieve them. The food is not particularly cheap, but the soups, salads and cakes are worth the trip in themselves. This is the perfect romantic lunch stop- at the back is an intimately cosy corner banquette and you can arrive laden with flowers and free books for your beloved.
